A great guitar for a player or collector who wants an instrument built in the direct tradition of Daniel Friederich, from whom Lesueur learned guitar making 35 years ago. As Lesueur tells it, both he and Friederich knew each other as cabinet makers in Paris before either one started making guitars.

Friederich began first and acquired skills and knowledge that put him at the forefront of world luthiers. At the age of 39 Lesueur decided to follow his friend and became his apprentice and in 1978, he made his first concert instrument.

During his subsequent career, he won the entire national and international guitar making competitions and attracted the attention of many top virtuosos such as Toninho Ramos, Celco Machado, Mitsutoshi Tanaka and Alvaro Pieri.

This pre-owned guitar serial number 620 is in meticulous shape; one of Alvaro Pieri’s students purchased it in Paris direct from Lesueur, and brought it to Montreal for his final university studies with Alvaro, whom has always recommended Lesueur’s guitars to his students and colleagues… (original bill from Daniel Lesueur is included in this purchase)

The guitar features a cedar top, gorgeous mosaic rosette, back and sides of richly veined Indian rosewood, a beautiful four-layer laminated head stock of dark and light woods surfaced with Brazilian rosewood, every detail of the construction and French polish finish is meticulously realized, and the interior surfaces are completely varnished.

The tone and presence of this instrument is superb, the balance is as perfect as it could be, nice sustain, projection, so easy to play, it offers endless potential. You must hold and hear this guitar to appreciate this great artisan’s work.
